My team and I at Studio6 were commissioned by Sony Legacy to create an immersive online experience that brought fans into the recording studio with a 24 year old Bob Dylan. The objective of the project was to connect Bob Dylan in a deeper way to existing fans, and also simultaneously attract a younger generation of new fans. In 6 weeks, Studio6, in collaboration with Havas WW, connected and created Studio A Revisited, an interactive platform that invites fans to jam, listen to exclusive content, and even attempt to sing like Bob Dylan. Following the project’s launch, Dylan’s album sales doubled in comparison to his previous Bootleg Series release.

LA Dance Workout was a dance inspired online workout platform designed in collaboration with the world-renowned choreographer Benjamin Millepied (Paris Ballet, “Black Swan”), and his infamous avant-garde dance company, LA Dance Project.

I led the multiple teams from branding to video content creative direction.

I lead the creative team responsible for havas new york's most recent agency rebrand effort, under the "Breaking Tradition" motto.

The contrarian tone was matched with a youthful anti-design aesthetic to reflect the agency's new revolutionary vision and newly acquired pool of talent.

I was a part of the creative team at R/GA as a writer + creative director developing episodes for Samsung’s ongoing content series featuring top influencers using their phones to take their art to the next level.

I was the creative director and designer for the main titles and all other branding materials for the DOC-NYC official selection documentary film by Laura Naylor.

Event branding and promotional content for a roundtable discussion about the ethical considerations within and beyond the use of AI in advertising, as a part of a series of events at Cannes.

The alarmist content of the discussion was used as a building block for the brand package, and reflected on all touchpoints.

"BRANDS AT THE SPEED OF CULTURE"

An art-installation-meets-anonymous-manifesto commissioned by a well known, but in this case anonymous CMO. This piece was disseminated over LinkedIn and other social channels to create awareness and conversation around the ethical, and effective use of data in commercial purposes.

The soundtrack was created by a custom created script that analyzed the visual data in the video and generated music within loosely controlled parameters.

To top it off, I had the privilege of directing Willem Dafoe for the voice over.

"Why is everything so stupid now?"

Shouting rebellion from the rooftops, Grace Mitchell's lyric video for her new single: “Kids (Ain't All Right),” powers the counterculture youth of today. Grace is bold and unconventional - a brave antidote to the fluffy churn of output today - the mouthpiece of the socially conscious.

Younger generations from decades past could discover new communities and feel like they belonged for maybe the first time in their lives through the format of a Zine: this analog, grungy, DIY booklet filled with art, politics, music and culture.

Our team instantly took to this medium for Grace. This was her sound in picture form. So we handmade our own Zine specifically tailored to the video. We constructed a pastiche of photographs, vintage magazines and handwritten notes - a beautiful chaos - and disrupted it with an ultra-modern, graphic iconography. Filmed overhead on Hi8 for the lyric video, we let the gritty narrative unfold with each turn of the page. 

The result was something genuine and authentic for today’s youth in revolt. It conveyed a fearlessness, an intentional life, filled with the subversion and provocation that has always driven the most persuasive of subcultures.

Our friends at Republic Records printed copies of the Zine and distributed them to fans at her concerts. Moving forward, this aesthetic will be implemented as her signature style. The video, which lives on her Vevo account, and the Zine emphasize Grace Mitchell’s true nature - authentically young, fully woke and audacious.

Ongoing video series for New York Times T Magazine where artists, designers, and other influential people are asked to create an art object out of 5 ingredients in under one hour. I’ve been co-directing these with my creative partner Michelle Snow under the United Labor moniker.

Each video features original music created in collaboration with WORKPLAYWORK.

There are only a few brands in the food world that own a form as iconic as the Hershey Kiss.

For an in-flagship-store experience, we designed a branded VR world where every Hershey’s fan could use the iconic Hershey’s Kiss as a blank canvas to create their own piece of pop art within season-inspired fantastical worlds. The individual worlds had their own special sense of physics, and even the way sound moved the environments were custom-designed to give each participant a distinct feeling for each.

In addition to spending time inside these magical virtual worlds, each participant received a sticker or a temporary tattoo of their own unique creation.

Visual + tonal development and launch of official lyric video for Phantogram's single “You Don't Get Me High Anymore”

It was important for the band to set a visual standard at the beginning of their new release. The idea was to introduce high-end typography into a ‘user-generated’ format like the lyric video.

We built on the initial momentum of the first single, and challenged the audience to a more esoteric world where the lyrics are sometimes hidden in the deconstructed / collaged world. The approach resulted in repeat views by the audience.

Creative direction for the New York Based quartet Koltun’s live sessions, which also provided the visual basis for their performances under Sleep No More.

Pure Shit is a live music event series I founded.
Acts favored analog instrumentation and experimentation with minimal syncing, and a raw improvisatory approach.

Past artists include Oora, Chris Kuklis, Pianosa, Amit Peled, Mikey Coltun, Cem Misirlioglu.

A custom created typeface that was based on collage artist Franco Berti’s non-dominant handwriting.

The font was given away as a gift to the first batch of orders of Lebip’s vinyl release on A Modest Plan label.

Soul Clap Records' funk ambassador Nick Monaco's world tour was accompanied by the simple, light-driven visuals I designed and directed.

"do it (short)" is an animated short about Hans Ulrich Obrist’s ongoing exhibition do it narrated by Reggie Watts.

Conceived by curator Hans Ulrich Obrist, "do it" is an exhibition of artists’ instructions, that began in Paris in 1993 with a discussion between Obrist and artists Christian Boltanski and Bertrand Lavier, who were curious to see how an exhibition may never stop. Now, do it has become the longest-running and most far-reaching exhibition ever, giving new meaning to the concept of the “exhibition in progress.”

Bumper / Mnemonic audio intro to Dr.Dre's Coachella headline performance.
Dre’s brief included the words 'make it as loud as possible,' and most of the bass frequencies are only audible on a monster sound system like Coachella's.

It's been a couple of years since the gears have started turning. A few songs, and an impromptu show at a BBQ party lead to Side Launch, the debut album by MANNER.
